Im Buschland der Siedlung Tuo auf Fenualoa trennt ein Mann einen abgestorbenen Ast von einem Baum, spaltet ein kleines Stück davon ab, spitzt es zu, um damit auf der größeren Holzpartie unter Druck Holzmehl abzureiben. Das immer heißer werdende Holzmehl sammelt sich in der entstehenden Rinne und beginnt zu glühen.

A man seperates a branch from a relatively dry tree in the bushland of Fenualoa (Ngasinue). He splits off a small piece which he sharpens, in order to use it for rubbing off wood-dust which gets hotter under constant pressure on the larger piece of wood, collects at the end of the trough caused, and finally begins to smoulder.
