English | English The flood threatened bridge is partly torn down and built up again by mutual assistance of the men of the village. On one of the river banks the pole has to be newly assembled. Beams are used to build up the scaffolding. Stones and twigs are used to fill the frame-work. Owing to this the beams, overlapping each other with the tips, are able to over-bridge the river. The construction can then be connected by four beams to the corresponding ones on the other bank. After the beams have been secured by planks the bridge is ready for use. |
