Wiesenkerbel; Fliegen, Wespen. Der doldenartige Blütenbau ermöglicht Besuch und Pollination durch gering spezialisierte Insekten. In verschiedenen Stadien der Einzelblüten wird den Antheren Blütenstaub entnommen, bzw. dem Griffel zugeführt.
Insect activity on the umbels of Anthriscus silvestris (Cow Parsley, Umbelliferae, Apiaceae) is shown as an example of pollination of allotropous (allophilic) blossoms with open nectar, by a series of low-specialized visitors. Structure and floral stages of the single flower as well as the behaviour of insects, especially hover-flies feeding nectar and pollen, are demonstrated in detail.
