Schleimpilz. Vergleiche C 1543.

Plasmodial slime moulds. It is shown how the rhythmic contraction of the cytoplasm in the plasmodium and in individual strands forms the basis for the regular reversal in cytoplasmic streaming. Radial rhythms in a strand are measured by infrared reflection; tensiometry and photometrically; longitudinal rhythms in strand segments are measured tensiometrically under isometric as well as isotonic conditions. Synchrony of contractile rhythm in a strand is demonstrated with the help of the so-called "Trapeze". Time-lapse. Cf. C 1543.
