IWF Wissen und Medien gGmbH, until 2001 the Institute for Scientific Film, was a Göttingen-based institute for media in science. It was founded in 1956 and was part of the nationwide Leibniz Association until the end of 2007. In 2008 to 2010, it was dissolved and was in liquidation as of January 1, 2011. The media stock was transferred to TIB in November 2012. This stock is not only made available for research in the TIB AV-Portal, but can also be used directly online, as far as possible, in the course of many years of measures for digitization, long-term archiving, indexing and rights clearance.
