This research aims to explore the business models adopted by German open access journals and analyze their influence on the diamond open access movement. With Germany's notable role in the open access movement, understanding these models provides insights into the future of diamond open access movement which is adopted in Europe and Germany in particular. The research will analyze the types of adopted business models and other related aspects such as APCs waiving, submission fees, and other additional fees. The data analysis will depend basically on DOAJ which is considered the most trusted database for open access journals. Research objectives: To provide an overview of the German open access journals. To identify and categorize the business models of German open access journals. To evaluate the long-term vision and transformative potential of the Diamond Open Access movement in advancing equitable scholarly publishing. To explore the transformation of journals into the diamond open access model.
