I was kind of nervous to speak in front of 1000 people, because this is my first time

to speak in RailsConf. I got rejected four times from the RailsConf, so this year I decided to buy a slot myself. So today my topic is what's going on in the crypto world.

We know last year crypto is very crazy all over the world. So that's how about last year what I'm doing. So a little of my background, I'm the founder and the CEO of OTC BTC. OTC BTC is the largest OTC exchange in Asia, and I'm also the organizer of Rails Pacific.

I'm very active Rubyist in Asia, and I'm building a product with Rails since 10 years ago. So this is my background of why I'm involved in Rails industry. So I always want to build something that really the product can impact the world.

So what OTC BTC does is we have two kind of business. One is OTC and the other is crypto exchange. People may ask me what is OTC? OTC is like kind of crypto version of eBay.

People can sell their tokens or like coins on the marketplace. The other is just like stock exchange, just like crypto version. We found in last year, October. So right now it's like for six months, but we growth 300 times.

And we are the one and the only exchange built in Rails. So right now we have 200,000 users, and we have over 100 million Chinese dollars in GME total.

So the last two years pretty wild year. Bitcoins become 20 times and the ethernet 300 times. So people are frequently asking me what's going on with the crypto world. The truth is like last year China temporary ban of the Bitcoin transfer.

So the ethernet rising. The ethernet is built, it has smart contract function, but in early last year it becomes the substitute of Bitcoin transfer value. So ethernet went 100 times, but a lot of project based on ethernet.

They using ethernet to do the ICO. So a lot of people become very rich, it just in three months. So they become the following ICO maintenance. And quick background of like what is ICO?

ICO is kind of another techniques to raising money from the public. In tradition, if you want to raise money from the VC usually take six months or longer. And it's very painful, but with the ICO, especially when ethernet comes out, the speed

of raising money becomes very big, very effective. Then ethernet become very like, the value goes 100 times. So people investing in crypto get a lot of return.

So let's why last year the crypto becomes very hot buzz wall and actually a lot of people getting very rich, including me, that's why I'm now doing this. So in short, in short, last year it kinds of crypto went through 50 years progress,

kind of like we go through the brand new system. So the traditional fee assistance kind of USD dollars are based on the gold and the United States ensure the value, but last year it's kind of blockchain version for like just one year.

Bitcoin becomes the digital gold and the ethernet becomes the digital USD dollars. That's how crypto economy now it works. So kind of like reinvent finance in just one year and the things are keeping going on.

For example, a lot of exchanges popping out and the private investment around the crypto and also there are some diverse like future index fund payment arising.

So in short, there is the future opportunity, I think it's probably this year and the next year's trend will be this next big opportunity, people will make a lot of money from this industry, but this industry, they are very short of good developers. That's why I come in and quickly rise it, but this industry has very many great challenges.

So the challenge included this ecosystem interact very fast. So you need to start shipping feature in very hourly or daily basis and the we face performance and the security challenges.
