Die Vorlesung richtet sich an Studierende des Faches Mathematik. Sie gibt eine maßtheoretisch fundierte Einführung in die Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie. Vorkenntnisse beim Verständnis von Wahrscheinlichkeiten (wie sie im vergangenen Semester in der Vorlesung „Einführung in die Stochastik“ vermittelt wurden) sind zum Verständnis nützlich. Die benötigten Grundlagen aus der Maß- und Integrationstheorie werden in der Vorlesung noch einmal kurz vorgestellt.
