Waxwings (Bombycilla garrulus) pluck mistletoe berries with characteristic movements: they turn their heads on an axis of 90° once to each side. The berry then comes loose. If the berries are extremely firmly fixed to the branch then the birds tear them off with disorderly head movements. The berries are swallowede whole. The scenes were taken at normal speed and in slow-motion (64 p/s).
