Nach Beschaffung von Bauholz und Kokospalmblättern im Busch für das Dach errichten mehrere Männer auf dem Siedlungsplatz in Gemeinschaftsarbeit eine 2,6 m lange, 1,75 m breite und 2 m hohe Erdofenhütte. Am zweiten Tag wird ein Erdofen für das abschließende gemeinsame Mahl angelegt.

Wood is cut in order to be used in the construction of a simple earthoven hut done in the old style. A native uses climbing cords and standing wood for assistance in cutting leaves from a coconut palm tree; the leaves are plaited into a roof covering. On the second work day the hut is finished and plans are made for the earthoven.
