In einen Nebenarm des Rheins rudert der Fischer sein Boot im Stehen zum Fangplatz. Dort stellt er eine selbstgefertigte Perlonreuse ins Wasser und befestigt sie mit zwei Holzstäben so, daß das Netz sich spannt und seine Eingänge sich öffnen. Dann tarnt er sie mit Schilf. Am zweiten Platz entleert er eine Flügelreuse und macht sie nachher wieder fangfertig, bevor er zur Landestelle zurückfährt.

A fisherman rows his boat in a standing position into a side arm of the Rhine to the catching-place. There he sets a home-made nylon fish trap and fastens it with two wooden rods so that the net tightens and the entrances open. For camouflage he covers it with reed. At a second catching-place he he empties a winged fish trap and prepares it for the next catch. Then he returns to the landing-place.
