The film presents an overview and gives the basic steps used in carrying out cardiopulmonary resuscitation, from the point at which the unconscious person is discoverd until the emergency services arrive. The following points are covered: oxygen supply to the brain and the consequences of its interruption (animated cartoon); the correct way to alert the emergency service; the necessary examination techiques; practical consequences of the result of the examination; the technique of stable side positioning; the technique of artificial respiration; the techique of external chest compressing; the correct course of resuscitation (two-rescuer-CPR).
