Alberta Number Theory Days XI (ANTD XI) (19w2262)

The Banff International Research Station will host the "Alberta Number Theory Days XI (ANTD XI)" workshop in Banff from May 10, 2019 to May 12, 2019. Number theory is a broad and central area of research with many connections and applications to other areas of mathematics and science. It is also an extremely active and diverse area of research. In recent years there have been significant advances in both analytic and algebraic number theory. The subject may be divided into several subdisciplines that range from pure mathematics, to more applied areas such as computational number theory and mathematical physics. Some of the pure mathematics subdisciplines are algebraic number theory, arithmetic geometry, analytic number theory, automorphic forms and representation theory. All of these fields are represented among the Albertan number theorists from Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge. The annual Alberta Number Theory Days provide a unique venue for these researchers, their students, and their visitors for face to face discussion of ideas and for facilitating collaborations. New connections are made and old associations are renewed. The workshop also allows for the exchange of knowledge, which will improve the progress of current projects.
