Abstract

An interactive session dedicated to exploring the challenges and opportunities of modeling diseases, together with attendees to the 2023 MOOD Summer School, online participants and leading experts, Tomislav Hengl, Data Scientist and Technical Director of OpenGeoHub Foundation, Jarod Hanson, Veterinary Epidemiologist and ProMED Chief Content Officer, ISID, Pierrine Didier, Sociologist and Anthropologist, UMR EPIA INRAE / VetAgro Sup Objectives of the exchanges : - Have a better understanding of the role of the data owners and data aggregators in disease modeling - Discuss the added benefits of the space-time vs space modeling of epidemiological data - Discuss how to make models useful for public health practitioners for their routine use - Discuss the ethics and data protection issues using Big data, and multi-source data for modeling (taking into account the GDRP in Europe in particular)
