Abstract
Where research on migration has classically centered on young people, studies of aging have generally focused on particular places. In this video, MEGHA AMRITH and her research group bring these two processes together, exploring the implications of growing older across borders, in a globalized world. * Combining ethnographic field work across multiple sites with broader cultural studies, the research highlights the fact that aging in migratory contexts is a highly diverse phenomenon which is often marked by inequality. * With clear implications for social policy, the research urges that we move beyond stereotypical assumptions about aging and migration both within and outside of the academy. * This LT Publication is divided into the following chapters: 0:00 Question 2:01 Method 4:07 Findings 7:21 Relevance 9:21 Outlook
