Abstract
The data curation model is conceptualized so that the activities, tasks, and relationships necessary for data management and successful curation can be identified. This model can introduce or update new concepts according to new stakeholder demands, new goals according to policy changes, and new values. Recently the need to introduce the concept of ‘digital transformation’ for the establishment and sharing of scientific and technological information is being raised by reflecting the new goal that can support open science based digital transformation or the value of innovation in digital science and technology. Therefore, we intend to update the data curation model by conceptualizing digital transformation in the current data curation model. In addition, it should be designed so that it can be reflected in actual work processes or activities, set as a new performance goal, and measure improvement in curation. In this study, the general concept of 'digital transformation' is newly conceptualized in the data curation model. To this end, we first looked at various concepts related to 'digital transformation' that have recently emerged. In order to define the concept of 'digital transformation' from a data curation point of view, actual data construction and management tasks and specific business processes were analyzed. The conceptual model of 'Digital Transformation' refers to DMP from a standardized and universal data management perspective to realize the value of data quality improvement and data curation of data-driven innovation. In conclusion, the new concept of 'digital transformation' includes the concept of microscopic 'data transformation' such as data curation collection and construction work processes and macroscopic 'digital transformation' in which new types of service platforms are changed. Therefore, the 'digital transformation' conceptualized in the data curation model can be applied and evaluated to actual work, and can be applied to general data management tasks through standardized conceptualization.
