The success of P2P Matrix depends on an overlay network which can provide good connectivity between users, and scale appropriately. For that we built Pinecone, an implementation of a new routing scheme called "SNEK", along with tools to simulate and to measure various properties such as routing table size and convergence times. This talk will explore some of the core design elements and the challenges of building a decentralised routing protocol.
