Abstract
To date, there has been very little discussion on what to do with research that has been published in so called "predatory" venues. Because predatory publishers exist outside of any discoverability or preservation networks and have no incentive or motivation to ensure that their product is part of the permanent scholarly record, their research is at high risk of being lost. In order to reduce the risk of losing potentially valuable research, librarians can leverage existing expertise in ensuring the discoverability, accessibility, and preservation of information in new ways with new open infrastructures to assist the research community tackle this aspect of the "predatory" publishing problem.
