At Yakkertech we use NixOS and Nixops to deploy software in a safe, reproducible, and manageable way to our embedded baseball pitch tracking machines installed in ball fields in the US. In this talk I'll discuss what we do at Yakkertech, some of the software and computer-related challenges that this brings, the aspects of NixOS that help us address these challenges and why we chose it, how we use it in practice, and our experience of having used it.
