In the first part two different forms of field-work using the short-shafted hoe are shown: turning earth over and digging out a channel for irrigation. In the second part of the film we see how rice is harvested with the sickle, the way the sheaves are threshed by beating, and the way in which the grains of rice are turned and dried.
