Dao Yaodong alias "Mr. Cool" ist ein junger Huayao Dai aus dem Kreis Xinping in der Provinz Yunnan. Modernisierung und Medien, insbesondere Fernsehen und Video, aber auch die neue Infrastruktur für die Arbeiter in der nahe gelegenen Zuckerfabrik lassen neue Visionen entstehen. Während sich die Alten auf vergangene Tugenden berufen, ist "Mr. Cool" dabei, sein bäuerliches Leben aufzugeben, so wie es sein älterer Bruder getan hat.

Dao Yaodong alias Mr. Cool is a young Huayao Dai (Thai) living in Xinping County, Yunnan Province.
