Patientin im Alter von 16 Jahren (Original): choreatische Bewegungsstörungen, unsicherer Gang, Myoklonien im Bereich der mimischen Muskulatur. Patientin mit 19 Jahren (Original): völlige Demenz, Myoklonien, Spastik. Bericht vom weiteren Verlauf der Krankengeschichte (wenige Monate später Bettlägerigkeit und Tod). In der histologischen Untersuchung des Autopsiematerials weist eine intrazelluläre Speicherung eines Kohlehydrat-Proteinkomplexes auf eine Stoffwechselstörung als Ursache der Myoklonuskörperkrankheit hin.

The film shows a 16 year-old girl exhibiting chorea symptoms: Myocloniae can be seen in the mimetic musculature area; her walk is unsteady. Two years later the case aspects are advanced. The patient is completely demented, myocloniae are still visible. There is spasticity particularly on the right side. A few months after the film was made, the patient died at the age of 19. Pathological-anatomical examination revealed a particular form of myoclonus body disease. In particular one can observe accumulations within the nerve cells by electron microscope which reveal a stratification in the centre and outside. This illness is probably the storage of a predominantly carbohydrate-protein complex, i. e. a congenital disease of the metabolism.
