Nicht weit von Tabuarorae, am Rande von Tümpeln, gräbt ein Mann mit einem Stab und mit bloßen Händen nach Krabben. Er bricht Scheren und Beine ab und gibt die Beute in einen Sammelkorb. In der Siedlung werden die Krebsteile von seiner Tochter auf offenem Feuer geröstet und verzehrt.

A man digs first with a stick, then with his bare hands, in order to find Geocaroides crabs at the edge of a pond. He breaks the claws and legs off of the captured animals and puts them in a gathering basket. Back in the village the crab parts are roasted over an open fire.
