The film shows how a clay dish is being made starting with the digging of the raw material and following up the process to the firing and painting. A woman builds up the pot using a coiling technique, without any tools other than her hands. To decorate it her husband uses a cutting and scratching technique which differs from genuine chip-carving. The pot is fired in an open fire (bonfire). Subsequently the husband paints the pattern of the conical dish with earth pigments.
