Als Ersatz für die schweigenden Glocken ziehen die Rätschebuben durch die Straßen, um die Bevölkerung zur Kirche zu rufen. Auf einem Heischegang erhalten sie Gaben, wobei sie Sprüche aufsagen.

According to ancient Christian use the bells are not rung the last days of Holy Week. Assuming the function of the bells, the Rätschebuben (rattling boys) at Ebnet pass through the streets rattling before each mass, in order to call the population to church. As a reward for their rattling and for their serving as an altar boy the boys receive gifts on a procession, at which they recite certain verses.
