Abstract
When Ubuntu was made public in 2004, it was clear from the beginning that its development would be based on Debian. Five years later, this has not changed at all, and the interactions between Debian and Ubuntu have been the subject of a lot of (heated) discussions over the years. This talk will first present how the two distributions interact with each other. Then, we will provide a (tentative) overview of the current state of affairs, and will try to give some ideas for the future.
