Abstract
This video accompanies the article "Missed fog? On the potential of high-resolution observations of shallow fog" (Izett et al., 2018). The video presents observations obtained at the Cabauw research site on the night of 6 November, 2017. 1-minute time lapse images are shown, with the intensity of LED pixels used to estimate visibility in the lower 2.5 m. High-resolution temperature measurements from distributed temperature sensing (DTS) are also displayed. The high-resolution observations are compared with their conventional counterparts, demonstrating the benefits of such methods.
