Abstract
Laura Espinosa is a PhD student at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). She has experience in epidemiology, microbiology and preparedness and response of public health threats at national and international level. While she believes in "One Health" initiative in which a multidisciplinary group of professionals is needed to address public health threats worldwide, she also focused her career in Public Health from an international perspective. In the past years, she broadened her expertise on artificial intelligence and the implementation of machine learning and deep learning in public health, and on the use of social media for public health functions. During the MOOD Science Webinar, she gave a presentation entitled "Use of large language models as a scalable approach to understanding public health discourse", findable on the TIB portal.
