Abstract
This movie is used in the paper "Reconstruction of precipitating electrons and three-dimensional structure of a pulsating auroral patch from monochromatic auroral images obtained from multiple observation points" published by Annales Geophysicae. Auroral images are shown at the first row. The auroral images were obtained at Skibotn (SKB), Abisko (ABK), and Kilpisjärvi (KIL) at 00:53:36 UT on 18 February 2018. We projected these auroral images at altitudes from 80 to 120 km with an interval of 2 km. Residuals between the projected images at each pair of stations (SKB and ABK, and ABK and KIL) are shown at the second row. The auroral intensity is normalized as I_j = (I - I ̅ ) / σ, where I is the auroral intensity, I ̅ is the average of I, σ is the standard deviation of I, and j signifies ABK, KIL, and SKB. The sum of the squares of the residuals (SSR) is shown at the top of each panel. The SSR is calculated as SSR = ∑(I_j - I_(j+1) )^2 /N, where N is the number of data points.
