| Abstract | This video explains how to download the 3D models and how to 3D print TotBlocks, a series of mineral building blocks. After accessing the files on Printables, the component 3D models will be passed through a slicer to generate a 3D printable .gcode file. While in the slicing program, pay careful attention to using supports when printing the O modules and make sure that print settings, filament settings, and printer settings are all adjusted based on the specifics of the 3D printer available. The source code for TotBlocks and a discussion forum for construction issues are available at the TotBlocks repository on GitHub. When you’ve successfully 3D printed TotBlocks, you’re ready to build the foundational building blocks of the earth! |
