Abstract
This presentation was given by Niels Stern during the Open Access Talk on 25 March 2021. Using the newly launched OAPEN OA Books Toolkit as point of departure Niels Stern (Director of OAPEN Foundation) presented key things to consider when publishing a scholarly book open access. The main focus of the presentation was on funding, quality assurance and discoverability/visibility in order to answer questions like: Are there quality criteria for open access book publishers that I should consider when choosing a publisher? Which license should I use for open access books or chapters? The lecture "Publishing your book in Open Access?" was held as part of the Open Access Talk online series of the BMBF-funded project open-access.network.
