Abstract
Empower the community to create a high accuracy 3D point cloud of the world using commodity cameras and open data. There is an increasing demand for 3D data to power augmented reality, autonomy and gaming. Traditionally creating this data requires expensive specialty equipment like LiDAR, 3D scanners or sensor laden vehicles. Pixel8.earth is using a combination of computer vision and geomatics to achieve the same results using commodity photos and videos. The goal is to enable the community to use their existing cameras to crowdsource a a high accuracy 3D point cloud of the world.
