Die *Linked Open Data Cloud* bietet freie interdisziplinäre Daten als *RDF* im WWW an. Auch Geodaten werden durch *Wikidata* oder *LinkedGeoData* zur Verfügung gestellt. Es fehlt jedoch der Support von GIS Applikationen zur Verarbeitung dieser LOD.
