Abstract
The talk will present case architectural solutions behind a cloud platform for Asset Management. The platform manages geo-spatial information and provides analytics services and tools for critical assets and infrastructures monitoring, for customers and prospects worldwide. The huge amount of geo-spatial data to be managed required us to rely on a cloud-based distributed architecture, based on open-source big-data management solutions. In particular, we defined a Docker container-based distributed infrastructure, using Geomesa and Accumulo. The talk will delve into details of architecture and strategies used to ingest, store, indexing, and analyzing the geo-referenced data, for optimal performance in terms of concurrent content delivery to multiple web clients world-wide, each acting on a set of Areas of Interest. Case studies will be presented to show the value of the proposed solution, in terms of user experience and real-time processing capability.
