Western dangaleat girls and women wear a special headdress consisting of the following parts: a headband of glass-beads, a head circlet of sheet-brass, a leather band with brass rings put from the forehead to the nape of the neck, and 50-60 small brass plates to cover the four anterior plaits at both sides of the head. Before putting on the headdress, the woman has her hair dressed. The hairdressing of western dangaleat women consists of thin plaits and a thick hair-pad put from the forehead to the nape of the neck. The hairs extracted by combing are twisted into little hairs-pads and braided with the plaits. When the hair is done, the headdress is put on. At first the brass plates are tied to the anterior plaits, then the leather band with the metal rings is put on the hait-pad running from the forehead to the nape of the neck. Now the headband is put on and secured, by means of strings, to the back of the head. Finally the head circlet is put on without being specially fastened.
