Maulbrütender Buntbarsch. Führungsschwimmen, Rütteln und Zurschaustellen der Afterflosse mit den Eiflecken. Beim Ablaichen stößelt das Männchen in die Flanke des Weibchens (T-Stellung). Nimmt dieses die Eier in das Maul, versucht es auch die Eiattrappen der Afterflosse des besamenden Männchens aufzunehmen.
