Als Beispiel der bei den Grillen und Laubheuschrecken üblichen Stridulation mittels der Elytren werden die Feldgrille (Gryllus campertris L.) die Wiesenschrecke (Metrioptera roeselii Hgb.) und die Sattelschrecke(Ephippigera vitium Serv.), als Beispiel der Stridulation mittels der Hinterschenkel und der Elytrea (bei den Feldheuschrecken) der Sibirische Grashüpfer (Aeropus sibiricus L.) und ein gewöhnlicher Grashüpfer (Chorthippus bigattulus L.) bei ihrer Zirptätigkeit gezeigt.
