Abstract
The meadow bee (sub genus Megabombus) is called a "pocket maker" because after visiting flowers packets of pollen collect in shoe-like "pockets" where after they are processed by the mandibles and given to the larvae. This behaviour is contrasted to that of Bombus terrestris, a "pollen storer".
