Before the dance festival the participants paint with red vegetable dye patterns on each other's face and body. Preceded by two players on bamboo clarinets, the dancers move ranged in a line one behind the other round the central place of the village. They probably represent a herd of grunting wild boars trotting along; this dance, originally a ritual hunting-dance, is nowadays performed on diverse occasions.
