Ein Braunpelikan würgt für ein kleines Junges im Nest Futter aus. Später holen die größeren Jungen das Futter selbst aus dem Schlund des Altvogels, wobei ihr Kopf und Hals fast ganz in dessen weitem Schnabel verschwinden.

A brown pelican regurgitates food for the young in the nest which is then swallowed by the young. Later the larger of the young reach for the food themselves from the gorge of the parent bird, whereby head and neck disappear almost completely in the parent's wide bill.
