Abstract
Knowledge Work is best done working together. Without true cross-discipline collaboration, the full value of an organization cannot be realized. But you can’t just mandate collaboration. Many organizations do more than just separate disciplines; they design systems, metrics, and rewards that practically make design, development, product, and operations natural enemies. “They don’t get it.”, you hear from all sides. In this talk, Doc will take a look at what motivates teams and organizations, how our systems produce the exact results we design them to produce, and how we can use simple (but not necessarily easy) techniques to counter years of “us versus them” conditioning.
