The first part of the film shows the cross-country flight of the two airships LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin" and LZ 129 "Hindenburg" over Germany (26th to 29th March 1936). The cities of Ulm, Berlin, Danzig and Marienburg are to be seen. The second part of the film shows a regular passenger flight to New York ending in the catastrophy of Lakehurst (6th May 1937) where the airship exploded during touch down.The film docments the time of highhest activities in civil aerostation and equally the end of rigid airships.
