Abstract
Passenger experiences in public transport are not evenly distributed, but are concentrated in spatial clusters with specific problem constellations. Our real-time visualisation of travel experiences from Hamburg shows transport providers where and why improvements have the greatest impact. The ExperienceAtlas is a cartographic web application that visualises the subjective travel experience of public transport users — recorded via a mobile application — in aggregated hexagonal cells and also shows feedback on positive and negative events (e.g. delays, comfort, overcrowding). The application is based on the open-source components MapStore and GeoServer and provides all map data via standardised OGC interfaces, which enables real-time filtering directly on the raw database as well as flexible integration into external GIS or business analytics tools. (The audio track has been generated from text using TTSMaker (ttsmaker.com) with voice model 2599.)
