Abstract
Dr Willy Wint is a spatial analyst and modeller with a chequered history as an ecological entomologist, and long-time GIS and mapping enthusiast. Within MOOD, he is responsible for coordinating covariate supply, and for modelling vectors and hosts. He has worked in academia for many years, more specifically on insect communities and herbivory. He also spent 20 years in aerial survey over much of Africa, and started working on spatial modelling and the use of satellite imagery 30 years ago. During the MOOD Science Webinar, Willy presented his recent work entitled "The Spatial Distribution of Crimean–Congo Haemorrhagic Fever and Its Potential Vectors in Europe and Beyond", published in the journal Insects.
