Abstract
Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) are pivotal in China’s open science infrastructure, providing unique and persistent identification for scientific and technical resources (STRs) across both digital and physical domains. Assigned at the moment of resource creation, PIDs ensure reliable access and citation throughout the entire lifecycle of the resource. The CSTR (Science and Technology Resource) service platform, developed in accordance with Chinese national standards, serves as a key PID service provider for a wide range of domestic STRs.The major challenge remains the inconsistent reliability of some PID services, which often leads to broken links or version misalignment, undermining trust and effective resource sharing. This presentation introduces the trusted CSTR service and its multi-faceted approach to enhancing PID reliability. It covers persistent resolution, content integrity verification, rich metadata support, and sustainable management mechanisms—all designed to meet the requirements of open science in China and facilitate secure, sharable, and reusable scientific resources.
