Ausgehend von Beobachtungen beim Galtonbrett wird das Verhalten der Binomialverteilung für wachsendes n untersucht. Die Auswirkungen von Zentrierung und Standardisierung auf die Dichte und die Verteilungsfunktion werden grafisch dargestellt. Schließlich wird der zentrale Grenzwertsatz von de Moivre-Laplace mathematisch präzise formuliert. Die Gültigkeit der Aussage auch ohne eine konkrete Verteilungsannahme wird diskutiert.
