On the island of Hood in the Galapagos, the manifold mating movements of the albatross were photographed. These comprise 12 elements and culminate in quiet, relaxed sitting posture before each other. The normal movements of the young and adult birds and the begging of the young, provide information as to the origins of two of these mating movements.
